Matilda commenced her legal career at a community legal centre, where she made a significant impact as a family violence duty lawyer. In this role, Matilda was instrumental in running a family violence outreach program, collaborating closely with social workers, nurses, and community workers. This experience not only honed her legal acumen but also enriched her understanding of the multifaceted challenges faced by families in crisis.

Before joining FGD, Matilda was the associate to Judge Glass at the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. In this role, Matilda further refined her skills, gaining invaluable insights into the intricacies of family law proceedings and judicial decision-making.

Her ability to navigate complex legal issues with compassion and precision makes her an exceptional family lawyer, dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for her clients. Matilda is currently based in Melbourne, Victoria but having grown up in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales and with continuing ties to the Riverina community, Matilda acts for clients in both locations.

When she’s not advocating for her clients, Matilda enjoys cooking and baking (and, more so, forcing the people around her to eat her cooking and baking).

Matilda enjoys swimming and playing tennis—at least when the sun’s out. Unfortunately, sunny days are rare in Melbourne, so Matilda often finds herself reading a good book instead.
