Todd Stevens

Originally from Christchurch, New Zealand, Todd graduated from the University of Canterbury and went on to be Admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. Since admission, Todd has worked primarily in family law, as an employed barrister, where he developed his passion and skills within this area.

In September 2023, Todd relocated to Melbourne to further his experience in parenting, family violence and property matters and found his place within the FGD team. Todd is committed to supporting individuals and families through the entire legal process and believes that empathy, clear communication and understanding the unique needs of each client, are essential aspects of family law practice. Todd aims to make the legal process smoother and less daunting for those he assists.

Being admitted in two jurisdictions, gives Todd a multifaceted view of family law. This unique perspective allows him to understand the implications family law issues have on individuals and enables him to tailor solutions to the specific needs of each client.

Real person

Todd is an avid sports fan and a budding cook/baker, which has been seen through his keen interest in joining FGD social sports teams, and bringing muffins into the office. Todd will often be found supporting New Zealand teams in all sports, or playing touch rugby, netball, or basketball himself.

When Todd is not involved in sport, he is attempting a new food creation he has found online, with some of his favourites being crispy pork bao buns and cauliflower nachos.

Todd is yet to pick an AFL team, so he would be happy to hear the arguments you have for your team.
